CREATIVE PATTERN MAKER (m/w/d)
032c Readytowear is looking for an experienced CREATIVE PATTERN MAKER to join our Berlin-based design team.
We are looking for an independent and experienced profile with a strong creative and technical understanding of garment construction, who can manage multiple product categories and take ownership of patterns and fit throughout the full development process.
LOCATION: Berlin
START DATE: September / October 2026
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
- Working closely with the Creative Director and Design team to translate the creative vision into patterns, proposing creative construction and pattern solutions
- Creating digital and manual patterns from sketches, drapes and design references, including pattern alterations and grading rules
- Taking responsibility for pattern quality, accuracy and fit from first design handover through development and final production fittings
- Working across different product categories, with a strong understanding of tailoring, outerwear and more complex garment constructions
- Working directly on the form through draping, pinning and fitting, as well as sewing and constructing garments when required
- Coordinating closely with the in-house atelier on construction, finishings and execution, overseeing the completion of high-quality prototypes and samples as well as internal garment fittings and amendments
- Working closely with Product Development and Production to ensure high-quality fit and finishing, including preparing clear pattern comments and technical instructions for manufacturers
- Playing a central role in runway preparation, including intensive fitting periods, show fittings, last-minute alterations and the preparation of garments leading up to the show
- Organising the workflow of the in-house atelier, including coordination of the Pattern Assistant and Seamstress
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 4–5 years of professional experience as a Pattern Maker, preferably within an international high-end fashion environment
- Experience across multiple garment categories
- Strong creative understanding and sensitivity for translating design ideas into patterns, including experimental and non-standard solutions
- Proficiency in CAD pattern software such as Gerber or Lectra
- Confident working directly on the form, including draping, fitting and garment construction
- Strong technical understanding of garment construction, finishing and production requirements
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced runway environment and responding quickly during intensive fitting and show periods
- Experience coordinating an atelier, junior pattern makers or seamstresses is a strong advantage
