032c READYTOWEAR
The Selfie Sweater is a 032c phenomenon: a staple across the community and a viral emblem of belonging. For Curated Editions, it becomes a shared canvas. Selected artists and knitters reinterpret the piece within their own practice – each resulting in a one-of-a-kind collector’s piece.
Emma Hasselblad takes a sculptural approach to the iconic 032c Selfie Sweater through a hand knitting process centered around the interplay of the body, architecture, history, and material. Working with the original sweater as a base, the Stockholm-based artist uses multiple yarns throughout the sweater, intuitively aggregating and shifting textures and colors to reflect her interest in patterns of growth, decay, and metamorphosis. Leaf-like forms inspired by the bluebell plant climb up the sweater’s sleeves, infusing the garment with its own quasi-organic botanical structure.

Emma Hasselblad is a textile artist based in Stockholm. Her practice centers on handknitting, exploring the craft-mediated relation between body, architecture, history, and material. Often expressing her work in large-scale, dreamlike forms replete with oversized flowers and other botanicals both real and imagined, she takes a freehand, collagist approach to knitting, allowing her interests in memory, care, and time to manifest through yarn’s sculptural potential. Hasselblad holds an MFA from HDK-Valand in Gothenburg and a BFA from ESMOD Berlin.
